Set it to high performance mode, and the bitrate to 25000. I found a workaround with NVENC that produces the maximum performance (maybe a 1-2 framerate hit) while having extremely high quality. Since my webcam doesn't take much to record, I set that to use the x264 encoder, and for the game footage to use the NVENC codec. I record my game footage and my webcam separately using 2 instances of OBS at the same time. My setup now is complicated, but a life saver at times. That's bad, since I have my mic volume and settings set specifically for my mic to prevent clipping and get good compression out of it.
